Hi there,

I've just bottled my first kit - Muntons Lager - and i'm desperate to get some more on the go!
I've bought a Coopers Canadian Pale Ale kit, but having looked at the instructions the fermenting temperature is a lot higher than my muntons kit requirements.
I stuck an aquarium thermometer onto the side of the fermenter (while fermenting the Muntons) and the temperature varied between 19deg and 21deg depending on whether I had the house heating on or not

So my question...will I be ok with the Coopers fermenting at this lower temperature - or should I buy a small aquarium heater to stick in the fermenter?
What will be the effect of fermenting at too low a temperature - will it just go slow - or will it not work at all?

Sorry for the newbie Q's!

Thanks in advance

19-21 deg is a pretty good temp range for fermentation, I would just crack on and not worry about it, your beer will turn out just fine.

It's a lager remember and should really be fermented a few degrees cooler, but I agree - it will be just fine.

Except being lager that is

From what I read James the Lager had been bottled, I was refering to fermenting the Coopers Canadian Pale Ale, which I am assuming is an ale.

For lager I always recomend pitching with a lager yeast strain at 13 deg and hold fermentation at 15 Deg.
