Afternoon everyone. Been searching for a relevant thread to add to, but can't find one, so starting a new thread on the subject. Admin, feel free to move if there's a better place.

Inspired by The Malt Miller's video on making a mini kegorator, and a need to give me a better means to dispense chilled beer at family gatherings this festive period, I bought a 35L cool box and added nukatap mini taps. The cool box is big enough to hold 2 x 5L mini kegs, with room for a sodastream bottle. I 'commissioned' it this afternoon and it works a treat! Living the nukatap mini taps!

35L Coolbox from The Range £22
2 x Nukatap mini's + wall mount shank kits £48
2 x Duotight disconnects £14
2 x 1.5m lengths of 8mm O/D valpar superflex beer line £9

Total build cost £93 (already had the sodastream, regulator and gas line)

Fair amount of cash, but I've been putting one keg in a cool bag with ice blocks up until now and wanted something a bit more practical, properly portable, and professional looking.

Just thought I'd share in case anyone else wanted to do the same.

🍻

That's a tidy job! Pic of inside please!
Forgot to take an inside photo before putting the test keg and sodastream back in the fridge 🤦‍♂️.

I'll post a photo later, but here's a photo of the inside at the moment. The stem adaptors aren't fully engaged into the Duotight disconnects as they're a pain to get back out, and I need the disconnects for bottling from the keg in the next week or so. On that note, add £6 on to the total cost!

I also need to cut new gas lines to suit the set up - that's tonight or tomorrow's job.

So, here is the set up. I'll need to pack in some stuffing of sorts, to keep everything rigid, and obviously throw in some ice blocks.

Please excuse the yellowed gas line for the right-hand keg - it's all I have at the moment and it'll be replaced with lovely clear, new line. I'll also buy new Duotight gas disconnects to keep everything more compact, but that's not essential.

Are you chilling the kegs in the fridge beforehand?
Yes, the home for my kegs is an undercounter fridge, which I serve from using a party tap. When it comes to a family festive trip, I'll just take them out of the fridge, and bung them in the coolbox along with the sodastream, and ice packs to keep them chilled.
