I have a 30 lt cool box and there is plenty of free space when I do 23lt brews. Probably better to be full rather than half full like mine.
 
yes, sparging sorts the space issue out :thumb: run your figures through beersmith and you'll see you probably need about 10L water in there at a time :thumb:
 
The first one looks fine. The only thing with that one is the outer is polystyrene so will be liable to dings over time. But as it's not an item that's used all the time it should last a good few years.
