Well I think Connie must have run off whilst I was in Spain and had a right old ride on "The Big One" with cousin Connor in Blackpool.

Because tonight after a weeks bought of wind and stomach trouble she has only gone and delivered her first litter!  & six beauties they are too

I must appologise for the picture quality but I had to help deliver them and could only grab my mobile with all the excitement.

The Birth's went really smoothly, and the afterbirth was only very small considering the size of the litter.

I was very impressed with her,
& to be fair cleaning her up afterwards was actually quicker and easier than a 5 gallon bucket supprisingly enough :D :thumb:

I am a very proud Grandpa :) :) & I am going to enjoy lazing in the garden with them all this summer.

Nice one Shane. If you feel the need to go on holiday again and you need someone to babysit them, give me a shout. What breed are they?

By the way, that brewery is getting put together very shortly - just ordered FB from muddy. Will post up pics when I get started.

Glad to hear the brewery is coming together, I look forward to the photos, the litter are all Duir Quert, but have turned out a bit stronger than the last time I brewed it, (I make it 5.7% ABV this time around), and a lovely drop it is too from the sample I had tonight, (it was still a bit cloudy out of the FV so god help em tommorrow at work  ).

You won't be disappointed with Muddy's Bottom, mine is a lovely tight fit and works a treat :D

I have put all my vessels on a UNI-Strut stand & the brewery all works well.

Keep Me informed.

You must be very proud of Connie, was her berthing as wild as her pre-insemination?

The birthing was smooth as silk Eric, just like podding peas, a nice relaxing affair sat on a coolbox, with a glass of beer and the radio on :drink:  .

Nice one UP  How did the New Conical perform? (I'm still working on getting one in a few months time) ;)

The new conical was spot on, I sanitised it with 25ltrs of richies cleaner sploshed around for 30 mins, then rinsed out filled it to 140ltrs, screwed the lid on and left it in the garage for 10 days'

Dropped the yeast out about 6-8ltrs & ditched it on the veg plot

Then racked off into the kegs from the 1/2" valve about 6 ltrs up, using some silicone hose for transfer, I didn't bother with a rotating racking arm, as I just tipped the conical up at the end to get the last clear dregs out, I was then left with about 3/4 ltr of thick porridge Yeast in the bottom, cleaning was just a quick hose out with Hot water and a spray over with a no rinse Videne solution, well easy.

Big Conicals are the way to go :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
