Hi Folks,
Complete novice at this and would like to give home brewing a try. Did try it once about twenty years ago. Was a complete failiure, however the internet and ease of infomation wasn't as accessable then as it is now. Any tips to point me in the right direction would be great and advice on how to start with as small a budget as poss would be most helpful. Cheers Weedy.

What do you want to brew? Beer, wine, cider, low abv spirits?

Most places have start up kits which are very useful. You won't go too far wrong with any basic kit, it's mostly just a case of sanitizing a bucket, fermenting and then syphoning off to bottles or a keg these days!

Try and avoid cider kits and make it from supermarket apple juice instead, it's much better and about the same price.

Welcome to the forum Weedy. We are a bunch of friendly people always willing to help and answer questions, who ever daft you think they may be. :thumb: :thumb:

If you are wanting to start then the easiest is to get a kit, however as someone has said cider from carton juice is easy (though it will take timer to mature) and so is wurzels orange wine (wow) there is plenty on the forum about it. As for kits most people seem to like the Wherry kits, but with anything the more you pay the better the pint you will get in general.

The better brew kits also got good reviews on here. Especially the Czech Pilsener.

HERE you will find all of them

Wow!!! Thanxs for the warm welcome folks. Would like to try to brew both beer & wine and cosidering cider. though i think cider seems a little more complexed than the latter two.
