Hi All

Is there a full compendium of hops and grain. I always struggles what hops to use and for what, same with grain.
Like difference between marris otter and for example crisps base malts. I know it knowledge can be switch together from different websites, but is there one place that has it all?

There is a thread here somewhere listing hops with descriptions etc but it was posted a while ago so may take some finding.

If you're new to brewing, Home Brew Beer by Greg Hughes has a two page summary each for good and malts - this could be useful for new brewers without going into too much detail.

Palmer also summarises malts and hope in How to Brew but his lists seem a little less contemporary to me, and more US oriented - Hughes is better in this respect but I recommend both books highly from one newbie to another athumb..
