I used a liquid yeast for the first time on my UXB brew. The yeast in the bottle does not seem to have compacted as firm as dried yeasts do. The last brew I did I used Nottingham and it has compacted down so tight you can pour almost the full bottle. Is poor compaction normal with liquid yeasts.............

Varies with strain just like dried yeast like US05 as compared to nottingham for example

Flocculation is the term often used btw, helpful when comparing yeast descriptions. I think the fermenitis ones use sedimentation though. In my experience S04 glues itself to the bottom of the bottle in while US05 never really settles well. The WLP yorkshire square yeast is like glue and their san francisco lager drops out well given time.
