So, later on this year i plan on investing in some corny kegs rather than bottling my beer and i need some advice.

First of all do i need a certain type of co2 for this? To allow both forced carbonation and dispensing?

Secondly i was wondering if anyone based in North East England was aware of a good supplier for this ?

Thanks

Co2 is Co2, if your supplier is selling it for beverage dispensing then it should be food safe. Pub bottles can have nitrogen added which aren't for force carbing, nitro mixes will have varying levels of nitrogen depending on the beer style.

If you aren't overly bothered about head retention and lacing but just want fizz then plain Co2 will be ample. 20-30psi for carbing and under 10psi for dispensing, a regulator that is reasonably accurate enough for setting these pressures will make it easier for you in the long run.

Have a think about whether you want plain or mixed gas as this will have a bearing on which supplier you need and what regulator you need. Do source a bottle first and then look for a suitable regulator.

Ashley Gases in Sunderland is where I get mine. £40 deposit and about £12 for a refill.
