Hi
Does anyone have a specific place they can suggest for getting co2 bottles? I live in the very south west of the uk, and seem to be finding it very difficult to get

I had an account with BOC for many years and had cylinders from them up to last week BUT their rental costs have crept up and up and they won't let you collect currently and charge an extra £30 delivery, so I have found an independent about 20 min drive away that's far cheaper.

Doesn't help your source but maybe inform your thinking.

Has anybody ever tried ordering gas online from Adams Gas? I previously used Neon Auto, their stockist in Sutton Coldfield, and just turned up and sorted it out with the helpful guy there and then. Never had an issue

Now I'm in the North East, all the local suppliers only seem to carry welding gas as standard, so I contacted a local stockist by phone who said they'd try and get one in with their next delivery, but the date they gave me came and went and, after chasing them twice over the next couple of weeks, I gave up.

So I went online and selected a 3.15Kg food-grade CO2 refill for delivery to a different local stockist but that's where that trail goes cold, too. There's no option to pay online and no order tracking system - all it seems to do is possibly send the order through to the selected agent who then ignore it (it's now been a couple of weeks with the second stockist, too).

I've currently got a 6Kg rental cylinder from BOC and was planning to go back to Adams Gas, but on the basis I can just rock up at BOC Gas & Gear and change the cylinder out when I feel like it, I'm thinking it may be worth the additional cost.

I got no response when I filled in the form on the Adams Gas website so I phoned the local Adams Gas agent and he sorted out a cylinder for me.

I'm still using Adams gas and never had any problems!

I’ve never had problems with adams gas I send the request on the website the contact phones me and I go to global surplus in Halifax to pick up and pay. These days I just go to the supplier for swapping cylinders

Thanks for the advice. I've called up the second place and apparently the guy who deals with the Adams Gas stuff isn't back until tomorrow and nobody else can help me in his absence. I'll call back tomorrow and see what the situation is!

I had an interesting conversation with my gas supplier just yesterday. There is an unofficial network of independent gas suppliers who will help each other out. Try calling your old agent & see if he knows of anyone in the NE.
