On my gas setup if I set it to 30psi and leave it not connected to a keg it drops to 25psi overnight, is this normal or should it be 100% leak free?

Was this not answered on another thread recently? It's the gas being absorbed into the beer.

You can check for leaks by spraying soapy water at the top of your keg.

I think you misread, the gas is not connected to a keg. it's just the leftover pressure in the regulator.

I did Indeed misread. Is there any reason why you're disconnecting from your keg?

Drop in temp overnight could account for the reduction in pressure.

If you've checked all your connections and there is no sign of a leak, then I wouldn't worry about it.

I disconnected it as I won't be drinking the cider for about another 6 weeks. So I thought there was no point keeping it on the gas. Please let me know if that is the wrong thing to do though as I am new to all this!

So even if you turn off the regulator (not the gas bottle ) it still drops 5 PSI? Surely that would be an issue with the regulator itself leaking? Mine never moves. What fittings have you got attached to it?

Edit. You can often hear leaks.

Not sure what you are doing, if you leave the gas on and connected to a corny disconnect then it should top up to 30 psi even if there is a leak until the gas is empty. If you do that but turn the gas off the I would suspect the corny disconnect is leaking slowly 1 of mine leaks all pressure in 5 mins if not connected while others don't but have never tested more than 5 mins. If this doesn't answer the question please confirm what is happening.

Regular leak checks are so important as materials expand and Contract and connectors do leak all of a sudden I learnt this lesson.
