Yesterday I tried my first closed transfer from the FV to my corny keg. My FV has a tap. Firstly I cold crashed to get everything at the bottom of the FV. Then I ran some beer through the tap until it was clear. Finally I attached a tube between the tap and beer out of the corny. It seemed to go well. However I had to keep purging the corny to release air that was building up, otherwise the flow of beer would stop. Now presumerably this air was CO2 still being released by the beer? Would purging like this pose an oxidation risk?

What cheeseyfeet said.
It is air coming out of the keg, nothing dodgy going in.
I tend to flush my keg with some CO2 from the FV first to displace any potential air. Though I do try and keep my kegs pressurised even when empty to reduce risk and keep the seals exercised.
