Cleaning stained demi johns

I've been kindly given 6 demi johns but they are stained inside. I think they weren't cleaned properly and then left outside.
Any thoughts on the best way to remove the marks?

Try a non-scented oxy cleaner and a good long soak with hot water.

Get a kilo of sodium percarbonate powder from one of the home-brew shops, stick a couple of teaspoonfuls in there with some hot warm water and leave it 20mins...

Top tip: TMM have a sale offer of a kilo of percarbonate and 100ml of Chemsan

Tesco own brand oxy cleaner £2.95. Tesco Easy Original bleach 55p. No need for hot water, tepid to warm
will do.

Once you have spent a fortune and tried everything. Get some caustic TFR.

A small ss scrubby works well too. Try a string round it. Drive it with a short length of bamboo.

In the past I have have used my usual brew cleanser VWP full strength per gallon cold water and left it overnight. 99% all muck was cleaned up.

I have had some freebies that are properly grotty, you quickly discover the difference between "recovering" these and a maintenence wash

If you have any ceramic beads for baking, I have had decent success dropping a load of those in with an Oxi solution and swirling them 'round the glass

I recovered a very dirty DJ with warm water and Milton tablets left for 3 days when I rinsed it was spotless I did stick a bung on to shake it and forgot to remove dunno if that helped or hindered

I went for the Tesco Oxy cleaner overnight.
This morning all sparkly.
Powerful stuff that Oxy.
