citric acid. how much is too much?

So i've bought a pack of youngs citric acid. Label says 1 flat teaspoon is equivalent to juice of 1 lemon. Making 10 litres of ginger beer, how much citric acid should I use, what stage in the process should I use it.

i use 1 teaspoon(kids meds spoon) per gallon at the start of brewing but thats me.

im sure someone will be along to say if thats wrong or right
 
So thatd be the equivalent of the juice of just 2 lemons for 2 gallons of beer?
