Cider stinks

I made an MJ Raspberry and Mango cider recently. It too had an 'unusual' aroma when bottling. Not sure if it was definitely sulphur. Anyway, after carbonation and a bit of conditioning it tastes OK and no ill effects after drinking.
Thanks for that, does set my mind at ease. It's not super strong as some others have experienced, just a hint in the background. Flavour ignoring the sulphur smell isn't bad at all and it's only a couple of weeks old, so maturity will hopefully help👍
 
A work colleague of mine had to give up cider brewing because his Mrs didn't like the aroma when fermenting. He does brew other beverages though.

I only do one or two with cider yeast a year so mrs is ok with that.

A rotten egg smell, is sulphur.
Sulphur Is the yeast under stress, because they are low on nitrogen (food).
It is a fault no a feature.

Add nutrient at prescribed rates, as soon as you smell it. Your taste buds and your nose will thank you.

If you have a sulphur smell in finished cider it can be removed with copper.

That's a bit annoying really as it's from a kit there should be enough nutrients in the kit for the supplied yeast, if that is the issue of course. Its very subtle really but its there.

The only other thing I can think of is temp control, but it was a pretty steady 21°c...

Guess I will juat have to see how it turns out since it's in bottles now....Will update in a few weeks.
 
Clean copper pipe with citric acid before use

That is the beauty of this process, there is no fancy maths. Stir until no stink. Do not immerse and run away. No chance of overdosing.

Ah, mine is already in the bottle so I hoped it would be as simple as passing through a copper pipe, but I guess not...either way, it won't waste, I don't like waste! The only cider I have ever actually wasted was a beetroot cider, tasted like dirty rain water!!
