cider off?

hi guys brewed my first bitter and heavy last month and is looking good and ive had a little taste and its nice, think it will be super come xmas :
a fotnight ago i did coopers larger and magnums apple cider,
the coopers is in bottles and is looking nice and clear not tasted yet though!
the cider i put in a barrel and have just poured a sample, oh my god i was nearly sick the smell was foul to say the least, it has been in barrel for only 7 days and i did not expect perfection but surley this cider has gone off?
i have got some youngs brewbuddy lager a the 1st fv just now i think i wont remember xmas or new year :drink:

Details of what you did and type of barrel might help us suggest what went wrong.

Does it smell eggy? if so, that's normal and the smell will go in time

i brewed it in a the 1st fv for 7 days and sithoned it into a plastic kegkeg barrel where its sat for 7 days.it does smell eggy, how long does this take to go, its for xmas any way i was just worried it was infected
it tasted and smelled fine when sithoning into barrel,when do you think i should sample again?

It can take a month or two for that eggy smell to go from the magnum kit, I bottled my magnum pear cider kit last night after 14 days in the FV, I won't be trying it until xmas (well, maybe one or two bottles before then :party: )

The Coopers Lager kit is pretty good too, putting a Coopers European lager kit on tonight :

thanks ill give it some time, i tryed the coopers over the weekend lovely, should have been doing this ages ago :lol:

 

You might consider making a Turbo Cider BF.
It's simplicity itself.
