Yes, any preferences? For stout you'll need roast barley and/or black malt as well.
I think if you are adapting kits it's a good idea to use a very bland, pale kit, like Coopers APA or Canadian Blonde, and then steep the grains that you need to get the beer style you want.
Blonde ale: no grain additions, but hops will improve it.
Pale Ale:
250g Crystal
Brown Ale:
250g Crystal
125g Choc
Porter:
250g Choc
250g Crystal
125g Black
Stout:
250g Crystal (optional)
250g Roast Barley or Black Malt or mix.
Mild: Milds are all over the place, but are lower gravity, usually, and hopped very lightly. Often just have crystal, sometimes chocolate, sometimes a little roast barley. There are beers that are difficult to put into a style, they overlap.
The above are just examples, there are all sorts of variations of course. It shows the basic differences between the styles though, and they work! And with hop additions you can add more flavour, and different yeasts will make a significant difference too. Try using US05 in any of them, for a clean American take on each style.
