I need some type of cloth to put my pulp in for a diy cider press I'm making... would cheese cloth do? i know you press cheese into blocks, but could it take the pressure from a fairly heavy-duty press? is there a specific type of material to use... any ideas at all would be great

My local haberdashery sells muslin on the roll. It's quite thin but it seems to be able to take the pressure from my little barrel press. Not had any split yet.

I went to the local garden center looking for netting and came home to a large sheet of carrot fly netting, it takes between 8 - 10 tonnes of pressure on my press and lasts for a good few pressings. Leave to soak in water over night and hang on the line in the morning and when I come home from work any remaining pulp has fallen off, so it is easy to clean also.
