Just wondering what is the cheapest kit (1 can of course im guessing, without it being out of date or reduced due to being damaged)?

cheapest I have seen is at wilkos the "Youngs u brew definitive bitter" single can kit. Just £8.07.

If anyone can suggest a few of the cheapest im going to try them because since my "santas winter warmer" kit was a failure and turned out worse than any other beer I have brewed (and that was nearly £25)

I had a pdf file showing what a local (ish) beer brewing shop sold and noticed they showed "muntons perfect pint series", "Cordon Brew SILVER Seal" and "telfords beer kits" for under £8 but it was only a bit of text and I cant seen to find any images or info about those kits :(

thanks

First, my Santa's was pretty bad too, but with 14 weeks maturing and serving at 10°C, it wasn't bad at all!

Cheapest kit? One to ignore! I think £8.07 or whatever you found is the cheapest out there. Youngs, good for starters, crap for anything else

To make a single can kit worth drinking you need to add spray malt rather than just sugar. So perhaps you should be asking 2 questions:
1) What is the cheapest kit beer to make up?
2) What is the cheapest kit beer to make up that's worth drinking?

Answers:
1) One of the Youngs one can kits with a kilo of granulated sugar will probably set you back £9 but will be thin and cidery.
2) One of the Youngs one can kits with a kilo of spray malt and 500g sugar will probably set you back about £15-20 but will produce a reasonable quality beer with plenty of body.

the youngs bitter is prity bad on its own. but a spray malt and it inproves it 100% . once you hey the rite kit AG brewing is cheeper can brew 40 very good pints for around £12-14 better than any kit

have a look on ebay aswell, i found a guy selling coopers kit for £6 each so I bought 3 of them, they were well in date, ive brewed 2 of them so far and they are fine, still got a cerveza to brew, might have a wee experiment with it, maybe try a kilo of spraymalt this time along with some other concoction! u cant beat near enough 108 pints for 18 squid.
