Cheap Cornelius kegs?

55 quid is about the market rate for a reconditioned keg including delivery so that price is about right. A lot of us buy these from the homebrew company. Delivery is extra but you can always buy more stuff while you're there.

Agreed Foxbat. HBC prices are always good, currently £48 for refurbished and £36 for unrefurbished.
All of the twelve that I have got from them were un fefurbished, I just replace o rings as and when they need it.

I do have another keg, but the opening is damaged rather than the lid so even with a new o-ring and a bit of gas it doesn't seal - so that will be getting weighed in

Have you tried pressuring it up without the holding clamp closed, give it up to 30 psi. If it then seals close the clamp.
