Hello.

I have made wine kits before, but mainly winebuddy, magnum or wilko ones. Always tasted too thin for me.

I'm looking for a red with a deep body flavour. Has anyone tried the cellar 7 malbec before? Or does anyone have any recommendations on a decent kit.

Budget is about 40, but willing to stretch a little if someone is convincing enough.

Thank you in advance.

The general consensus is that to get anything like a decent red you need to spend £50-60.
Personally I stick to the £30-35 range as they suit my palate as well as my pocket.
I started with the Wilko bracket and worked up in cost. Got to the Kenridge classic range and decided that (for me) there wasn't much of an improvement in depth of flavour or body to warrant the extra money.
Cellar 7, Punch, Superior Seven and the like will make a tasty easy drinking wine but some people find them lacking.
I will say that the jump in quality from the cheap Wilko kits to the likes of Cellar 7 is big enough to make a difference.
Let your taste buds be your guide

Cheers. Tom

Thank you.

I think that's probably the best way to go. Take a small step up and see how I like it.

I don't want to jump right into a 60 quid kit to find I can't taste the difference between that and Vimto.

Beaverdale reds are nice.
I made 3 different 6 bottle red kits, all good and now make 30 bottle merlot.
About £43 from brew2bottle.
I've just ordered another and a magnum red for about £17.50 to get over £59 and free postage as well as try the magnum kit.

I might add 1 or 2 ltr of asda grape juice in the magnum.

Maybe try a beaverdale 6 bottle kit first.
Think I paid £11.50 from my local home brew shop .
