Cat Litter...

I have been trying to find Bentonite clay to use as a fining agent.

I've heard that cat litter is just pure Bentonite and if I used a mortar and pestle to crush it, this would be ok.

I went to the pet store to check the ingredients but it was all in Chinese :-(

Anybody have any comments on this advice..?

never heard of that one. Why not just buy proper bentonite? save all the hassle

I wouldn't use it. You need a food or pharmaceutical grade you don't know what impurities are in Cat litter, it may be full of heavy metals for all you know. :mrgreen:

I have used these people before. Unfortunately there website says they are under investigation for the a death related to their food grade products so I wouldn't buy from them however I found loads just by googling.
