Carbonating filtered beer and bottling it..........

Hi,

Does anyone know how I would be able to bottle filtered beer and force carbonate it?

imho US condition tastes err on the high side ;)

Tho if you dont have that kit set up.. a less precise method could be attempted with pet bottles and caps fitted with preferably Stainless steel or normal? (if ur happy to run the risk of a rubber hint ;) tyre valves.

purge the bottle, fill with beer, screw on valved cap, pressurise, and bung in the fridge, ebay sell cyclists co2 bulb tyre inflators and cheap digital tyre pressure gauges..

Like this :-) Ha, this takes me back. No matter how much I washed those tire valves, I just couldn't get past the taste and smell of rubber:sick:

I haven't started filtering yet, just want to get away with not having sediment in bottles, hence the forced carbonation.

How do the commercial guys do it??

Differing ways, but mainly - ferment, kill the yeast, filter, force carbonate then bottle under pressure with a pressure equalising or counter pressure filler like these ones:

It's possible for homebrewers too. Plenty of YouTube vids on bottling from a keg with counter pressure bottle fillers. Oh, and no filtering needed.
I used to be obsessed with getting rid of sediment. But now I'd miss it, if it wasn't there :-D

Seems a lot of trouble just to be able to drink from the bottle!
Sometimes if I'm off hiking and want to take a bottle of beer with me I just decanted a bottle with sediment into another bottle and took that with me. There's co2 dissolved in the beer so it wasn't flat even after a few hours.
