Just fermenting my second batch of the above. Not really a lager drinker but the first batch was a decent pint. The only thing I noticed with the first brew was it cleared in the FV very quickly after fermentation stopped, so when it was bottled it was clear in the bottle within 2-3 days. I only added half a teaspoon of sugar per bottle and the carbonation was disappointing. I was thinking of adding a full teaspoon per bottle on this batch and seeing if that produces better results, can anybody suggest anything else or will my method work?

There are two things that spring to mind when I read your post.
The first is what size were the bottles?
The second thing is, if they were glass pint bottles then I would think 1 tsp /pint may be a bit too much?
Try 3/4 tsp/pint ?

When I did a Youngs Lager kit I used 1 tsp of sugar for a 500ml bottle. It stayed in the bottles and no accidents, but it was a VERY lively beer. It spoilt it a bit for my liking, but it depends what you want. I'd go for 3/4 tsp per pint as suggested by TS.

Mostly 500ml bottles with the odd 568ml chucked in. I will go for the 3/4 suggestions and if its flat I will hunt you down and make you drink flat Lager :D

I'd be only too happy to oblige. If you want to make sure you have fizzy pop, then go the whole tsp.. nothing bad will happen (disclaimer: if anything bad happens, see my previous response to being hunted down and made to drink broken glass... wait! )
