CaraGold/Caramalt, add to OG if steeped?

Will caramalt/caragold add to my OG reading if they're just steeped in hot water rather than mashed with anything?

i would say yes but not a great deal , more for flavour and as you only usually add say 200g won't make much difference to the over all og anyway
