Hiya,

I have lots (and lots) of Leffe bottles, the 750ml size, but my capping gizmo only does the smaller necked 500ml bottles.

Any idea how best to cap these 750ml types and where I can get the necessary gadgetry?

You will have guessed that I pretty new to this.

Mephistopholes: It's not the column height that's the issue here, there's no mention of the cappers you linked to having interchangable cups for standard 26mm crown caps and the champagne type 29mm caps which pgt123 is asking about. I'm damn certain he's not going to find 29mm caps on Amazon.

 oops sorry i misread i thought you were asking about neck width not the actual mouth where the cap is touching. the vertical cappers do cater for fatter necks more easily but i guess cap size will still be the same problem.

You can buy plastic cork things from HB shops which simply push into the necks of those style of bottles, they work fine. If you are carbonating more than about 3 - 4 volumes you will need cages for them.

I agree with Mysterio, as I've got some pilsner conditioning in leffe bottles and I used the plastic stoppers you can get (even in wilko) and their cheap...and re-usable. The only snag is that you have to force them in and inevitably gently lever them out with a knife to encourage (when ready to drink).

Yes, I agree too, plastic stoppers and wire cages is what I've used for some fizzy wines, but as cwrw says, they needed a rubber mallet to drive them in and some leverage to get them out again.

I got the impression that the original poster (who doesn't seem to have come back for the answers) was looking to do this in quantity, which is why I found a link to the correct caps.
