im not a heavy drinker but would love a cool cider right now :(

with the mrs less than 3 weeks from giving birth and the closet hospital being 25 mins away(we are not going to that one) and the other hospital 30mins the other way (the one she wants is in another county) im on call just in case so cant/wont drink but this heat is getting to me water/pop/fruit juice is just not hitting the spot.

iv got 5 mini kegs of different brew and 20-30 bottles all sat cooking the shed ready to wet the babies head.

what do you drink when you cant drink?

tea :sulk: the only time i drink that is with a fry up or mixed in my cider(tannin)

The Bavaria alcohol free stuff was the best (as in slightly least worst) I found when I was in the same position.
Is there a way we can make our own alcohol free beer? I haven't looked into it, funnily enough.
Tea at this time of night? Not for me.

When SWMBO was expecting with No.1 I gave up a month before, but he ended up being 10 days late.

So when No.2 was announced i decided i wasn't going to fall for that one again so I gave up with 2 weeks to go, he was born on his due date

she isnt meant to be born until the 21th aug so has been bought forward as we had major problems when the our first was born (worst 7 days of my life) so we are on high alert as the mrs is getting a bit jumpy already and the stress levels are rising. i have learnt the route to the hosp inside out, upside down, day and night so i dont have to think.

That's the advantage of living 2 minutes walk away from a hospital :) Now, if my wife will just stay pregnant...

I wet our babies head with a pint of rum and a dash of coke. After 28 hours in the labour ward and 3 hours waiting for my partner to come out of surgery (not knowing if she was going to survive) I felt it was warranted!

Our first spent 7 days in Neonatal with what turned out to be a minor problem, but when second came along and was taken away from us I didn't think much about it until I went to see him. I realised how bad it was when they told me they were trying to organise a bed in Gt Ormond Street for him and he would be flown down by seaking. In the end he was transferred to childrens hospital in Manchester where he stayed 2 weeks. That was the worst 2 weeks of my life.

But 7 yrs on you wouldn't have thought. :thumb: :thumb:

my wife is pregnant, and we've just been for 20 week scan on Tuesday, all normal, so no more scans, but I'm welling up reading some of your stories here. How some of you have coped is remarkable - well done all.
I only hope that our experience in December isn't a future 'horror story' party anecdote.

Indian tonic water with a dash of squash is good in this weather when I don't want booze.

Best of look with the birth.
