An overlooked but vital bit of kit for the tinned it brewer - the humble can opener. My Magican struggles on cans with a big seam - eg Wherry. What do you use that proves itself reliable in service?

This though it can be tough going sometimes.

For tinned beer kits I prefer the sort that cuts through the top of the lid rather than the side, I think it makes it easier to get all the malt out. I don't completely remove the lid, I leave about a centimetre or so an fold it back it's about 90° to the can. Empty most of the contents into the FV then fill will boiled water to get the rest out, give it a good stir in the tin to dissolve the remainder and then pour it out over the lid to rinse off any malt that's stuck to that. I like to get every bit as it all gets turned to alcohol after all!

That is exactly the same method that I use.
