Getting well ahead of myself here ,starter kit is in the post , ....But will I be able to connect a traditional beer pump to a king keg and hand pull it .
It will be a king keg ...top valve , also looking at the Korny kegs .I would imagine that it depends on:
It's a bit of a "How long is a piece of string?" question where "It all depends!" is the answer.
- The connections to the pump.
- The connections to the King Keg.
- Whether or not you have rigged up a carbonation system to the King Keg.
The top of my King Keg (a Top-Tap version) looks like this ...

... so that I can carbonate the brew via the Schrader Valve when the natural CO2 runs out.
I could leave the connection attached and connect a beer pump (if I had one) to the outlet, knowing that as I removed beer from the barrel the CO2 connection would replace the lost volume in the keg.
So, the answer is "Yes, but depending on what King Keg you have and what modifications you make."
Hope this helps.
