can i use this for ag

hi all iv been useing my coopers home brew kit for several batches all been good but now made the leap 2 ag gonna pop my cherry in the morning but have a small querry or 2 first my fv from my coopers kit seems a well made kit but can i still use this the same way with ag as it has no air lock and the lid dosnt snap shut this just sit on its the newer design and the ag setup i have got came with a fv with a snap shut lid and an airlock

Yes you can use it :thumb: I don't bother with airlocks for beer anyway

thanks for the reply m8 didnt fancy useing the new fv i got with the kit as its not got a tap at the mo been looking every whare for a ball valve an bulkhead fittings can only find them at the home brew shop for 24 notes was really wanting 2 pay a lot less lol do you know if the plastic types are any good

I've been using plastic taps for many years. I like them via I can take the out, strip them down and clean then easy. Also the clear tubing I use fits snug and doesn't need a clamp.

I find BES to be pretty reasonable for plumbing bits and very quick too. I think you'll find everything you need there.

whatever equipment you use for fermenting out your beer kits you can use when you switch to all grain.
The all grain part is just an add on process done before you ferment
What you are doing basically in all grain brewing is making the liquid sticky wort that you get in the cans when making beer from kits.
The Coopers fermenter is one of the best fermenters to use. Its very sturdy. well made to a good design and will last you years.

Good wishes on your first brew, and don't worry too much about the mistakes you will make, as long as after the boil period you stick rigidly to sanitation and cleanliness you will make beer.
