Anyone ever hopped a ginger beer. I made a successful batch of fiery ginger beer and fancy doing it again but maybe adding some hops, either during the boil or dry hopping. Anyone ever do this, will it work?

DON'T DO IT!!!

It's very strange... Go buy a bottle of Wychwood's Ginger Beard and take your decision from there...

I did mine with a mix of spraymalt and honey. Fabulous!

Just don't think hops would work...

Spray malt instead of the sugar presumably. How and when did you use the honey? If its not too much bother could you PM me the recipe. Cheers

Cheers Callum, think I'll give this a try. Did you add splenda after fermentation to counteract the dryness? I did on my first one and it worked well but was thinking maybe not all the honey would ferment and therefore might add some sweetness. Guess I can always taste and decide then.
Thanks again

i've had ginger ale and it's good, but i wouldn't hop a ginger beer if it's dry, as supplying bitterness sounds like a bad idea...maybe aroma hops in a sweet ginger beer would work! splenda/malt and boil hops for 10 mins for flavour but no bitterness :thumb:

for ginger ale, you'd boil up malt extract and hops with a bunch of ginger
