Out of interest, how many of you homebrewers are CAMRA members? Would be interested to get a feel for the demographics as I know there's quite a split in the brewing world ;)

Not a CAMRA member . . Think they need to wake up and smell the coffee, and do something about highlighting the globalisation of the brewing market, and forget about worrying about pubs using CO2 for 'real ale dispense'

Joined the Craft Brewing Association instead . . . which is about helping people improve their brewing

CBA looks good - may well join this myself.

For the record, I'm an active CAMRA member at both branch and regional level and hold posts within both. Of course, it's not possible to agree with everyone anyone says but when looking at the overall picture I fully support CAMRA's policies and do what I can to give up a lot of my spare time to the cause.

I'm an active member, despite not agreeing with a lot of the stuff HQ say.
Or their members haha.

Yeah I'm a member fwiw. Been to festivals but socials aren't easily attendable due to transport and timings.

Same as Ano I attend the festivals but other than that don't do much with them!
Must sort out my membership to CBA with Greg, I keep forgeting to send him the stuff

:hmm: That reminds me . . . I should be getting the December issue of Brewers contact this week

sort of a CBA member here :wha: , well i sent off the cheque a good 3 months ago and still not had anything from them besides my sample copies of there news letter. :hmm:

Sample copies? What was the lastest one you had.

They normally send you some back catalogue issues and the current one.

Were you expecting something else? Do you get emails? I get emails.

I must join the CBA, CAMRA is not an option for me at the moment as i disagree with the direction it has taken.

I got a nice welcome letter last week from the CBA and quite a few back issues of the contact magazine.

I've been to a few CAMRA organised beer festivals, but that has been the extent of my involvement with them.

Once CAMRA drag themselves somewhere near the here and now i'll join.

CBA is a superb organisation.
