So that's 4 BIAB mashes under the belt and another ready to roll in a couple of weeks. I'm still short on drinkable beer and as far as I can make out a wheat will be ready and drinking quickest...

I presume that there is no real drawbacks to BIABing a wheat, so what would be your suggestion for a first wheat beer recipe?

Thanks!

I'd be interested in this as well, although not a BIAB - I posted about a witbeer yesterday, trying to get my head around decoction and what a "thick mash" is - first runnings?

I also assume that it is fermented at a much lower temp - ~ 12deg, so I need to sort out that aspect - although I have a spare fridge.

Try this recipe 64% wheat (pale) 36% pale ale malt , 41c 20 mins 50c 20 mins , 64c 20 mins 72c 30 mins making sure not to scorch grains when raising temp , ferment at 22c use wlp380 or 300 or 352 aim for around 15 ibu using saaz 50% at start, 50% at 15 mins left of boil and boil for 70 mins

p.s ferment for 10 days , carb for 2 weeks using 150g sugar for 23l drink as soon as carbed best after around 4 weeks
