Damn, I've seen that pump clip as a guest ale at my local, but I didn't bother looking any closer or finding out what it was simply because it said Banks's. I've never been a Banks's drinker and have usually tried to avoid their pubs.

Mark, it's not a curry beer, it's meant to be a good beer to accompany a curry. Linky

This should probably be a separate topic, but I would be interested to know who owns what, I did say to my local landlord a while ago “I didn't realise Marston's owned Banks's” and he said “well actually Banks's own Marston's”.

It won an award for the best beer to accompany a curry so don't worry, it's not full of spices and curry powder. lol.

It's a really hoppy drop! Think a half way house between hardcore ipa and punk ipa

We went out for a meal last night, so with this thread in mind I rectified my earlier omission.

My Local is a Banks's/Marston's house and usually has 4-6 guest ales on tap, but since I crossed over to the dark side I am usually disappointed by any of their Wychwood / Brakspear / Ringwood offerings.

I wasn't disappointed with the UCB, for a commercial brew it does actually taste of something, I even went back for more.
