I've just joined the forum today.

I've been brewing for a few years using kits & now using malt extracts + grains by simply boiling in several big pots on the kitchen stove.
Now I've created space in the garage I want to install a boiler & other equipment.

Is the Burco Cygnet 30 litre tea urn suitable &
- will it allow full 90 minute rolling boils
- can the thermostat be overridden & is this actually necessary
- can a hop strainer be fitted
- is tap suitable
etc....

Alternatively, can anyone suggest other more suitable boilers (I am not much use with DIY electrics & metalwork, so would prefer a ready-made boiler) - ideally I do not want to spend much over £100

hi, dougie there are many on sale for less then £100 if you go to the link on the top of this forum for example 'the homebrew company' just click on logo at top of page and look in beer equipment and then boilers you will find some 33l boilers with heating elements and hop strainer etc fitted for about £60 ish , hope this is what you are looking for , as fasr as the urn goes i;m not sure , it may be poss to use but i would of thought the heating element would not be designed to be on for 90 plus minutes but i could be mistaken hopoe that was of some help to you :thumb: ,mark.
