In the supermarket?

Seriously - try looking on ebay or maybe looking at sugar factory websites

I've looked into buying sugar from catering suppliers, they couldn't compete on price against the local poundstretchers or B and M at 45p per kilo, the only redeeming factor was you could get it in a 25 kilo sack which would save on a few trips with a shopping bag or two. Personally i would rather have a lot of unopened little bags sitting about rather than one large one.

We bought a 5Kg bag once and to be honest it was a right pain in the arse to pour when trying to weigh small quantities and using a spoon just made a mess (and annoyed SWMBO) we didn't bother again and went back to 1 or 2 Kg bags. (we now get ours from B&M, great price)

45p a kg from Lidl - bargin in my opinion :D

Find someone with a bookers card, they sell sacks for around £17 for 20/25 kg

I really did like the idea of this but the 1kg bags are already measured out so it's easier on brew day - especially if your saving water by drinking beer/cider xD

+ at 45p a kg at lidls you really can't go wrong

Ask your local butcher (Yes, they use loads)/baker/chocolatier.. they are usually more than happy to order an extra bag with no extra charge. Especially if you are a regular customer.

For crystal sugar I don't think it will make a lot of difference, but for candi or cane sugar it might be worth the effort.

That's the perks of living in a small town, the butcher/baker you know also won’t charge the VAT. Saves another 6%.

On occassion I buy 7-8 kg from farmfood when they have sent a flyer with sugar at 39p of kilo, otherwise 45p from lidl or home bargins.

I can't complain with 39p hehe who would - is there a limit on how many you can buy ?
