So far this weekend, I have manufactured:

1: A mash tun from an Asda coolbox (though it really could do with some extra insulation yet)

2: A HLT from a fermenting bucket and a Tesco kettle element. Just tested it half full and it seems to work great. :)

Coming up on the list of things to do:

Covert another fermenting bucket into a two-element boiler and make a copper pipe hop filter.

Well done John S......keep at it...if you don't the missis will only find you something to do

I've been laying a new patio this weekend :? "whoopee" when I should have been doing what your doing.

The boiler is built, but has a couple of small leaks around the kettle elements. :(

The holes didn't cut quite so cleanly, so the washers from the kettles don't quite manage to seal.

I'll let it dry off and see what's in stock that I could seal them with.

Anyone got any suggestions for what's good to use as a sealant round the elements?
