Hi guys, so have a pale ale fermenting away. 1060SG and pitched a packet of dehydrated s04 7 days ago. Kept the tempreture at 19oc apart from the first day when it rose to 24oc but I quickly cooled it down. It's been sitting on a thermostat controlled heat pad and the airlock is still bubbling away after a week. I've never had a beer bubble this long, is this because of the heat pad maybe ? Gravity is now 1014. I'll be leaving it another week anyway, I'm just curious for others experience

Cheers guys

bubbling is just a sign that more CO2 is being produced than can fit in the headspace, different yeast strains take different lengths of time to do their job, temperature can influence how fast or slow they work. You basically want a stable gravity over a 3-5 day period to basically determine fermentation is complete unless of course the temp dropped so low the yeast went dormant but 19 is fine for most ale yeasts. You already have a decent ABV approx 6% and depending on your grain bill it may not get much lower. Just monitor it for next few days if constant its probably done.
