Morning all!

i picked up some bubblers at the carboot yesterday but they don't have lids. At 20p each I couldn't resist getting them thinking that I could plug the opening with cotton wool or maybe even using a bottle lid or something to sit on top. Now I'm wondering if this is a good idea at all - don't want any nasties getting to my wine! Do you think they'll be ok with the cotton wool/bottle lids or shall I just accept I've wasted 60p?!

I also spied a guy with 2 DJ's so got very excited. The excitement quickly faded when he told me he wanted a tenner each for them! He didn't seem to believe me when I told him I could go to the local homebrew shop and get them brand new for £7.25! Nevermind, I picked up 3 from the British Heart Foundation on Saturday for £1.50 each. :D

Your bubblers don't really need lids - stuff goes out through them, not in
But if you want to, just in case, a loose-fit bit of tinfoil would be as good as owt.
It's only a dust stopper, really.

Thanks! Thats really helpful. It means all my DJ's can all be put to good use without worrying.

Some cartons of juice have round caps (rather than a pull tab) and these will very often fit tops of bubbler airlocks.
