I had left my PB (standard 5gal PB) with a little bit of beer in it for a few months so have been giving it a good soak to get it clean ready for the next batch.
I have the pin valve disassembled in a jug of steriliser and keep getting some brown gunk forming around the pin that punctures the co2 bulb.
is this in any way normal? it looks like the pin could be a a different metal to the brass body so perhaps reacting with steriliser.
