after years of using the vacuum sealer it descided to pack up just as i was packing grains for the brews and back in storage!! arghhhh!
always something lol so i got one delivered the morn!
find out what day wor lass goes back to work hehe!

on the bus, off the bus!
change o plan, black ipa & potter on hold.
doing David Heath tropical ipa (change the grains but kept the hops and yeast.
verdant yeast should get it a quick ferment and force carb in the keg.
a week for xmas eve fingers crossed.
hoping the grsins etc lesst come today and brew the morn early.

eventually in the boil!
everything going smooth!
then the GF tripped ffs one handed reset..no good.
All i think is a scorched bottom!
soooo manage to to tranfer in big cube, ragged the hop filter oot!
scaped the bottom, tranfer wort back in!
Hot the ‘HH’ for the boil!
no words for that hop filter tbh as i always without it scrape the bottom with paddle!
hayhoo not all lost, about a litre, started on 27l n then with the fanny on 26l.
All i can think that filter will help is one day i use the two G30’s.
hop filter in fresh one! and test without hop spider!

after what 11 years using the G30, i hope it’s not ‘User Error!’
i can count on one hand how many times it’s tripped! normally with a wheat of finally crush malt bill!
infact must me 10 years ago!
infact i bought a brewzilla hop filter plate…and think i got the same prob!
anyhoo nearly into 15 additions
mosaic and Nectaron & whirlfloc tablet.
just needing a big hop stand at 80c of bout 100g o each.
then wort chiller into 30l brewziller all rounder.
i’ve set spunding valve to no more that 5 psi.
Normally 12.
As this supposed to be a fast ferment yeast, i won’t temp it too high, for all i can.
19c, then ramp up to 21.
Dry hops hoping around 1.014-13. at lower temp.
then when the three days clear on FG. cold crash for 3 days & pressure tranfer to get.

Some brewdays are like that. You have to think on your feet and sacrifice a chicken to the brew Gods.
 
Chrismas morning 2023.
well lads n lasses my plan for a tropical pale ale today went on the waiting list! i bought a scotch whisky that taste bloody awful. 🥃
sooo maybe a forced carb’d one for new year.
enjoy yourselfs and i catch you soon 🎅🫡🍺🥃🥳

with going on in other threads, the tropical pale ale is cold crashing & should be transferred tomorrow into keg.
just organised the Baltic Porter 20l*brewday (* should scale it higher for losses im going to encounter with the G30 FV experiment on the other thread.

don’t worry the black IPA & London Porter small batches will be soon in the new year.
i’ll catch you on pressure transfer and carb’ing up.

New Years day 2024.
Hallow lads n lasses.
I hope yous enjoyed the celebrations & not feeling rough as a badger:vomitintoilet:.
I had a 'Shandy' (my Tropical Pale ale) and raised a whisky.

Today all good intentions to Brew the Baltic Porter, but got side tracked to vamp one o my Homebrewing youtube channels.
Looking at Brewing the morn TBC.
