Hey all, I have 2 questions...

1) Im providing ale for a friends summer BBQ and aiming to brew up an IPA, Bitter and a Lager. I've not had any experience in producing a larger as I dont have the correct setup thats need to ferment at low temperatures, is it possible to produce a lager fermenting at 20c? Or can anybody recommend a larger style beer that will keep the lager drinkers happy?

2) As Ill be bottling everything I've just realised that people wont be able to drink directly from the bottle due to them being bottle conditioned/carbonated... Is there any way around this or do I insist on being poured into glasses?

Any help much appreciated!
Steve

try a coopers australian (original series) lager, it comes with an ale yeast so no ferment temp worries.

i'd say always pour bottled homebrew, and do so carefully aswell, condition properly and chill to make the yeast (sediment i should say..), less likely to swim out while you pour, or you could use large (say 2litre) bottles and pour/siphon into serving jugs

have a nice bbq :)

Great, thanks for that Walker, Ill look into the coopers now. I used to love the coopers pale ale when I lived there so it could be a good option.

Maybe we should get hold of some glasses so it can be poured..

Thanks again :thumb:

I did the coopers lager for my first brew, fermented at 22-24C and it came out good :thumb:

Maybe just buy a pack of plastic pint glasses? I take some with me when i take my homebrew anywhere and strangely they seem to provide the best pint with a nice frothy head
