Since Ridleys went there's only really micros these days. Maybe give one a ring, think most would be proud to show you round. I`ve been to The Wibblers brewery [at Phils invitation] and found it fascinating.

I went over to the brentwood brewery last year. he is a good bloke I would have stayed to chat for longer but had the nippers with me.

It's near old MacDonald's farm

i contacted the 1 in maldon essex and got this nice reply
Hi Darren,

The brewers will show you around the brewery at anytime Mon- Fri 9.30-3.00 or on Saturday between about 10 and two of if you are arranging a tour for a group of visitors this would have to be booked for an evening as the brewery is very small.

Thank you for your interest, and we hope to see you soon

Julie

so i will be popping along there soon

Sorry Darren It has to be a No. We are only taking evening tours for clubs and societies when not so busy.

Regards

Alison

We're happy for people to pop by and say hello here at Wibblers.
Contact details are on our website http://www.wibblers.com
Always a free pint going just drop us a line.
Tried to get some of yours at the Colchester beer festival last week, it was gone. Not sure if you were there, but did you try the Phoenix APA from Harwich Town?

I know that Harwich Town do brewery visits, minimum of 10 people anytime evenings or weekends. Always plenty of draught beer up and bottles for sale too. £6 per head for all you can drink.

I was in Mayland today with a business colleague and he said - "fancy a beer"
Stupid question really

So I followed him for a couple of miles and we ended up in a farm yard :?

Not sure where the beer was going to come from, but he introduced ne to Phil at Wibblers Brewery

Phil thank took the time to give me a tour of his brewery and explained how he got going commercially, including some of the pitfalls etc.

I can only sat Phil I envy your set up, but it certainly gave me some reasons to think about a commercial venture

He certainly knows his beer and brewing and everything that Aleman has posted in the past is absolutely correct

Only downside?

He had been over run with orders and couldnt sell me any bee  r

Next time I'm there I am taking some beer back with me and, hopefully some yeast ;)

So - if in Essex see go to Wibblers :thumb:
