Brewday: Strawberry & Kiwi WOW

afternoon all...

slung in a bucket this afternoon

1L Asda red grape
8L Asda (red) Grape, Strawberry & Kiwi (70/20/10%)
3L asda apple
4kg sugar
1L strong tea
5tsp pectolase
topped up with water to 25L
4ish tsp Youngs super wine yeast compound
og 1.085
est fg 0.990 (about 12% abv)

I have just bottled a 30 bottle WinBuddy Sav Blanc, i think i finished it too early and its a bit on the sweet side, Mrs Tea wont like it so will be adding soda water to hers, more for me. :lol:

Racked this one tonight, lost a load of volume to the cheesy krausen that had sunk to the bottom 😠

Stabilised and will add kwik clear on a few days and leave for another few days before bottling. I'm pretty sure the blackcurrant one I made had less of the 'sediment in the bottle' issue I'd been having recently, after leaving it for a few extra days to clear.

On the plus side, another FV is free 😃

I find this with any juice that has purée in it, you end up with 50cm of crap in the bottom of the DJ.

starting to get close to a bottle shortage though 😯 will need to get some more pop bottles

I made a similar one but without the apple Roddy it was a lovely drink :thumb:
just been talking to Mr chippy actually about the same subject the amount of sediment :-(

probably about 4L mate, I used my youngs wide screw neck fv which makes it harder to siphon off a heavy load of sediment compared with my loose lid style coopers fv. I prob lost at least 1L when bottling too 😠

It tastes bloody lovely though 😃

I will make it again and use the coopers fv next time to get more out
