I'm waiting on some ingredients to brew what I had planned to brew so a quick shift around tonight and i've come up with this which will be brewed tomorrow.

Brewlength : 60L
Target OG 1.045
Target IBU 35
90 min mash 65c
90 min boil

Pale (Maris Otter) 89.5%
Wheat Malt 5%
Toasted Oats 5%
Chocolate Malt 0.5%

The following is the hopping I was going to use from my inteded brew & may change.

Challenger 90 mins to 28 IBU
Bobek 15 mins to 7 IBU
Bobek 60g steeped at 80c for 20 mins

All fermented with s04

I just need a name for it now.....

I'm sure there will be some devine intervention during the brew day that will inspire a name :D
Have a cracking day Wez :thumb:

What a day!!

Hot water tank in the loft decided to burst just after I got the mash on  so that took a bit of time to organise

Well, manged to get 85L at 1.040 into the boiler, it's just been switched on now. Using the pump to recirc & transfer to the boiler was nice and easy. :thumb:

I'd better decide how i'm hopping this now!

Finished with 60L @ 1.048 split into 3x 20L FV's fermenting each 20L with a different yeast, s-04, Nottingham & Windsor

It's good to be back brewing again

Calling the beer "Tanked Up" after the hot water tank in the loft broke halfway through the brew

Did you decide on hops? And make sure to post your impressions different yeasties. Have you done this before?

I decided to stick to the hops I orignially posted

Challenger 90 mins to 28 IBU
Bobek 15 mins to 7 IBU
Bobek 60g steeped at 80c for 20 mins

Nice aroma from the boiler, looking forward to seeing how the different yeasts work, will post results.

I'll upload some piccies in a min too.

Nice one Wez. :thumb:

Did you toast the oats in the oven, and for how long?

Yes in the oven, I used the method that Vossy uses for his Oatmeal stout.

180 degrees for 1 hour turning the oats every 15 mins.

True to form the s-04 started first and is glugging away like crazy already :D

All three happily fermening away, the Windsor particularly aggresively!
