Hi folks, been planning this one for a while after tasting the Jaipur IPA, what a beer, my favourite beer at the mo.With Thistle playing tomorrow night I will have Saturday free so will plan a brew seen as my fermenters have run dry.
I found a recipe online here http://www.jimsbeerkit.co.uk/forum/...sid=804ce5ecfa352d86e4efd14834d9e32d&start=15 where the guy had a good idea of the recipe. a few of the hops are unavailable so I have just substituted them.quite a hefty bugger and I think I'll end up with above 15L post boil going by these mofo'ing hops!
the recipe calls for WLP001 - California Ale but I've got Wyeast California yeast so will bung that in instead. looking forward to it.

the pic above didn't show the last of the 0 min hops

Tonnes of centennial and cascade and you can't be far off! Good luck pal. Got one in the cupboard downstairs ready for tomorrow, a truly stunning beer.

Where do you buy the Jaipur IPA? Interested in trying some now :)

I buy it from http://www.alesela.co.uk they've got loads of other beers from breweries all over the world. I assume Thornbridge brewery will sell them aswell. Waitrose do quite a few of their beers, I tried the Halycon and something else but they weren't half as good as the Jaipur.

right guys so the brew is on, got back from the game mega pi55ed off after we lost 1-0 and decided to get a brew on to calm me down! the mash is all tucked up for the night at approx 12.20 tonight, bang on 66 degrees, I thought that something would go wrong seen as it was a sort of spur of the moment decision to brew, but everything went very well. My auld bastart Maw aint gonna be too happy when she gets up in the morning for work with the smell of sweet grains-a-mashing in the morning while I'm still lying in bed! fecking loving this All Grain lark by the way

brew all finished, equipment all cleaned and now time for a beer! few pics of the brewday. I ended up pretty much bang on target og of 1.064 although 2 L short. I had 29L pre boil, boiled for 30 mins then topped up with an additional 3L of boiling water mid way through as I knew I would lose quite a bit due to the amount of hops I was using, just need to fine tune my brewing software to my setup but 23 Litres will do. lovely clear brew at the end as you can see.everything went well to be honest, apart from my 2 coupons I had on :D

just a wee update, this has been bottled for 9 days, I also filled a 9L mini cornie with it and had a wee try from the cornie tonight, its bloody awesome, smells just like Jaipur and tastes pretty much spot on, wasn't expecting it to taste so good so early, give it another month and it'll be unbelievable. definitely going to be my 'house ale'. you've got to brew this if you like Jaipur and The Jags!

That looks really tasty, can't go wrong with the American "C" hops! What was the ABV in the end?

cant remember exactly, I think it was on par with the recipe ending around 1.016 making it about 6.4% :D
