Hi All.

Yesterday I brewed THIS

1.jpg

I think I smell a rat. Luckily, this is my decoy bag of old malt.

I've got a real problem with condensation in here after a brewday, so everything goes damp and mouldy. I did clean it up before brewing though.

I installed this too. It helped a bit but I need to come up with a better way of getting rid of the steam.

Malt weighed out, with water treatment.

5.jpg

Hot liquor circulating to get an even temperature. My bloody PID broke as well so I had to go back to doing it manually.

Mash on!

Sparging

Using a valentine arm and an old FV, because I haven't finished making my automatic underback yet.

Rolling boil

Cooling 90 minutes later.

Transfer - it's pumped to the FV

Can't be seen clearly, but I hit my target gravity. I used low-colour Maris Otter if you think the colour is a bit light.

And now it's time for the money shot...

:thumb: nice
there may be a slight chance of more than one rat
Nice brewday, can't you let the door open during brewday or is the damp from another source

The door is open during the brewday, but there's no airflow to get it out of the door. It just condenses on everything.

Working on a better extraction method at the moment.

Pics showing now, good stuff, you really do put food down for the rats!!

Looking good James :thumb:
I kegged and bottled my Snow Beata today and these hops are growing on me :D

Just racked this, it's a tasty drop. The bitterness is spot on for me. Definately one that's going to be drunk young.

lovely brew, great shiney
:D
My brewday tomorrow and using just the extra pale malt and some wheat. If it comes out anything like the colour you have it, I will be extremely happy!

I forgot the Whirlfloc.
Dont worry about it JB, i forgot the Irish moss in my last brew. as long as we drink it out of a cup you wont notice.

Ha. I used aux finings. And I never put my beer in the fridge.

The samples were clear enough though.
