Where I live, there aren't any home brew shops. But there is one about 15 miles away called glen brew home brew supplies. If you're in Glasgow you should check it out. I went today for the first time and it was beautiful! Spent ages in there and I only wish there was more shops like it near me. In fact, to my knowledge there are only 3 in Scotland. Is the rest of the uk the same? Are there any websites you guys have used and are happy with?

I was in Cardiff this week. Did a web search for homebrew shops.
Result was one shop Home Bfew Crew. Went on their website
and found brewing articles. Read their blog and found more
brewing tips. Drove miles through city traffic to the address:
CLOSED and a money changind firm in their premises.
Wouldn't it be nice for businesses to notify people via their
website when they close?

I’ve heard Glen brew is a good place to visit, same family as the Williams Bros. Brewing Co who have some great beers.

I haven’t been to many Homebrew shops as I tend to used online shops for my AG supplies these days, buy in bulk helps keep costs down, but I am sure there’s more than 3 in Scotland. Do a Google search and there are a few, but if your planning to visit any best to phone first, in case they’ve stopped trading.

There are 2 in Edinburgh alone and the Brewstore.co.uk (formally Edina Home Brew) is really well stocked and friendly if you’re ever over this way, its well worth a visit.

Take at look at there website, if you’ve not done so already, for an idea of the stuff they stock.

I agree with you. Williams Joker IPA is one of the best commercial ales I've tried.
I have Leyland Homebrew about 7 miles away. They do a lot of business by post. If I go 7 or so miles in the other direction there is, apparently, a shop in Wigan.
15 or 20 years ago a newsagent/ general store had homebrew supplies in Chorley, where I live.
I have bought hops from The Malt Miller, also. He has a great range. The postage is a lot for 100g of hops but OK if you're buying a bigger batch of ingredients.

Closest to me is about 30 miles, been using idle valley though and very impressed.. Not a vast stock but good prices great communication and fast delivery.

Where in Glasgow mate? Do you know about the one in Partick?

Yeah dave, that's the one. Dumbarton rd. got that and 2 in Edinburger. But thats about 40 miles away. I'm worried it'll close down. Must b tough for specialist shops to survive in this day n age.

I get all my stuff online but not sure if still trading but there was one in Kirkcaldy too fermentation stop .

Kirkcaldy is just out my road unfortunately. I'm really just a moan cos I'm lucky enough to work in a shop that sells brew stuff. Just not a huge range of it but at least I get staff discount haha. While I'm getting paid, I'm skiving looking at beers n wines. Its a hard life. In my shop it's far too expensive for equipment though

I call at one on my way to work but to be honest I only call if I need anything quite quickly as when you go in the owner doesn't seem to want to help you very much . To be honest I don't know why people are in business if they're like that
