Needed to move my beer to shed at weekend but running out of space so inspired by George Clarke's Amazing Spaces I noticed that there was unused space in the pitch of the roof, so I made this:

looking good not sure about the cane though. ive got around 6m of shelves to put in the shed for brews when i can be arsed to go out in the cold.

 Yeah will be upgrading the cane on next visit to diy shop, looks like its under a lot of pressure but it actually isn't it has a natural bend in it if you know what I mean and yes it is very strong but not sure I trust it 100%.

hi good job mate ....
but just one thing no need for a leg to the floor...

make a suport leg for the shelf ....
cut on a angle and screw it to the bottom of the shelve ...
and fix the other end to your shed suport .. :thumb:
sorry about the drawing but you get the idea ...

regards mick... :hat: .

Cheers Mick, was thinking of doing something like that but ran out of wood and time and couldn't think how to do it properly. Will change it at the weekend.

Personally, I'd support it from the roof down rather than floor up. Either that or you could keep the bamboo support for comedy effect.

You have some more canes there so I would be tempted to use a few more under it until you get a permanent fix. I'd be gutted to go out to get a beer and find it all over the shed floor one evening.

:hmm: .....................
I don't think this one will go down as a "How to make a shelf"
Good luck. :D

Is that a joiners jig in the bottom right hand side of the shed? That would suggest carpentry skills hhhhmmmm lol, but on a serious note I like your can do attitude mixed with a little make do and mend, I'm sure it'll be sound once you get a better support in.
