I have a brew fridge and it is controlling the temperature when brewing but I am now at the stage of bottle conditioning and there seems to be a temperature difference between the top and the bottom of the fridge.
I am considering fitting a pc cooling fan but now sure haw to do that, has anybody on the forum had experience of doing this and if so what fan did you use and also what power supply as you can get 240 volt or 12 volt fans

Get a standard 12v fan and a 12v power supply, I used my old router power. Cut the cables and connect. Place so it will blow over heater

You can get PC fans off eBay. Less than two quid, or find an old pc and 'rescue' one of the fans. The wires must have a black and red, this is so they can just use DC power to get them going. Modern fans with blue, yellow, green (I think) need stepper motor controllers.

It might be worth noting thermodynamics too. Hot air needs a fan pulling hot air from the top and forcing it down and cold air needs pulling up from the bottom. I'm currently designing a ducting system with a fan at the top and ducts at the bottom with fans on a double pole double throw switch with up for warm and down for chill. The switch reverses the fans. The only thing I need now is a fridge so that I can cut the ducting to size but here are the fans that run off 5 volt so a phone charger could run it but I have built a 5v PSU that can have an input of up to 24 volt AC or 9 to 32 volt DC so I hope to be able to tap into the fridge electrics. Photos below of the PSU and fans. If anyone wants info on building the PSU just let me know.

I have ordered a netgear plug and a 12 volt fan so hopefully they will work who knows

I bought a couple of fans from Scan in Bolton for £1 each. Modified an old computer power supply to supply 2 12v wires (2 yellow, 2 black). Easy to do and very cheap.

run the fan 24/7 it will maximise the efficiency of both heating and chilling as well as maintaining a stable temp throughout the fridge.

with a pc fan can you have 3 wires 1 red 1 yellow and 1 black.
black is -ve
red is +5v
yellow +12v

so with a 12v psu hook up back and yellow wires.. if using a 5v or less psu use red n black..
