Brew fridge free zone

Now this might come across as pure green eyed envy, but I'm fed up of all the threads about brew fridges.

This is because I'm desperate for one but have nowhere to put one. There seems to be about 10 threads per day about them, and it feels like I'm the only chump without one. Boo hoo.

So I've set up this thread as a designated 'brew fridge free zone'.

Feel free to talk about literally anyhing, as long as it's not brew fridges.

And yes, I'm aware I have mentioned brew fridges several times already.

I don't have a brew fridge (similar issue with lack of room) but I have a designated "brew cupboard"(which I share with the vacuum cleaner). It's not much at the moment but I reckon for about £60 I can fully insulate it, and add a tube heater and temperature regulator.

I have my "contraption" (aka "warm cupboard) which sits on my workbench in the garage.

It's made out of a spare section of shelving and insulated with an old BBQ cover, old sheets and a sheepskin jacket; all tastefully held together with bulldog paper clips and kept in place with a length of 3 x 2.

It does a great job of keeping FV's and bottles warm! (The bulbs I started with kept blowing so they have now been replaced by a 40 watt heater.)

However, I didn't realise until a few days ago that this "contraption" (her words) were so distressing to SWMBO that she broke down and actually suggested that I go and get a secondhand fridge that will go under the workbench! :whistle: :whistle: :whistle:

With summer due to arrive any day soon (Ho, ho, ho!!) I will need a fridge to keep the brews cool so watch this space as I may not be able to contribute to this Thread for much longer! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

I don't need a brew fridge as wine will happily ferment winter or summer in my kitchen with no help although I was thinking of using a water bath next winter to speed it up a bit.

I have one of the formentioned items in my shed.
A nice bosch full size one.
A stc 1000 fully wired up.
But just need to clear space to test the offending item.
My brew is in its quilt under the stairs, sat at a nice 20.5 degrees.
It seems such a waste, I need to make time to clear the shed to get access to the offending item and make good use of it. Mmmmm it even holds two fv's.
Notice I didn't even use the swear word.
